Self-improvement

The stoic way

Can you control it?

  1. Yes -> Change it. Or not.
  2. No -> Go with it. Or waist your time thinking about it.

Write it down

Putting your day to pen and paper is the best spiritual exercise. Journaling is Stoicism!

Actively practice discomfort

Comfort enslaves you by making you fear of losing it. Being homeless is not so bad. Comes with a lot of free time you always wanted.

The mind evaluates every perception

Good thing you are in control of it. Or are you?

"Choose not to be harmed and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed and you haven’t been." - Marcus Aurelius

"You cannot choose your external circumstances but you can choose how to respond to them" - Epictetus

All is ephemeral

Everything and everyone turns to dust one day. So will you and all your possessions. No big deal.

Look at the big picture

In the grand scheme of things your problems don't seem so important any more. Nor do you.

The end is coming!

Your end. Meditate on it so you are ready, eventually.

What's the worst that can happen?

Think about it. Once it happens it won't be so bad. Just like taking cold showers.

Embrace your fate

What happened will not unhappen. Live with it.

"To love only what happens, what was destined. No greater harmony." - Marcus Aurelius
